CCC Directors Meeting 12/7 Minutes

Mary Walton discussed faculty performance appraisals. A peer component as part as this evaluation process is being considered for Fall 2007. Supervisor has to do one of the observations.  Will report back next meeting - hope to implement end of May.

SACS and faculty credentials and faculty evaluation report.  Curriculum Coordinators and Directors should have ( or begin tracking down) past faculty evaluations on file.

Must keep track of faculty evaluations for corequisite from this point on for SACS. Considering consolidating (housing) all these records in HR.

Monday, Dec. 11. Health Science Student training exercise on campus. Just be aware this is just an exercise.

The Working Calendar committee met and have compiled the tasks/events for the calendar. This will be a work-in-progress. The first version should be available early in the spring semester.

Get Adjunct contracts in ASAP!

Colleges are responsible for having a policy on requisites and prerequisites. These cannot be waived. If we substitute for a prerequisite we must have a policy in place, outlining the parameters for this. What would we consider suitable parameters for substituting a pre or corequisite for our programs?

Curriculum advisory committees must meet this Spring.

GroupWise Topics for a Directors  training workshop. Calendar is an important function for us all to know how to use. Let’s look into a cheat sheet for GroupWise.  Hope to do this at January meeting.

High School Outreach Initiative - how do we tap into the High Schools in respect to recruiting (reaching out to) High School students and get them to consider CCC as a viable option for furthering their education. Committee was established with Sharon Mills heading that workgroup.

Class schedule workgroup will meet 2:00 PM Feb 1st prior to Directors meeting to coordinate schedule.

President’s New Years meeting Jan. 2nd starting at 12:00 - 3:00 pm

Fran discussed the earlier meeting where a group of faculty and staff brainstormed for a common theme for all the things going on at CCC, Came up with… Propelling Student Success Assess, Engage and Affirm. Jean handed out some logos for this initiative.

Job Descriptions for Curriculum Coordinators and Director’s for 18th of January.  Johnny will present this.
