Proud to be an AMERICAN!!!

April 15, 2009

I mailed my $2,500 to the state and federal government today. Believe me…I don’t mind paying my fair share, BUT the taxes in this country are getting completely out of control. I’m not alone in my feelings about this issue – it looks like thousands of other American’s feel the same way I do about the direction our country is heading.  I don’t normally use KeO Blog for political purposed because I am an artist, writer, photographer and teacher and my blog is normally about my creative endeavors, however I’m changing my  format for the next few days to celebrate, promote and further the cause of the Tea Party Tax Protest going on in this country.  I’ll let the photos I took at the rally in Carteret County today speak for themselves.  These were NOT radical “right wing” extremists by no means. These were REAL people – over 1000 of them! Normal working class people who are PISSED OFF and ANGRY at how our BLOATED federal government is spending our tax dollars on bail out after bail out and aggressively trying to convert our Democratic Republic into a Socialist country . They are putting our children and Grand children into serious debt before they are even born. Obama and his liberal radical accomplices are attempting to take over American corporations and businesses and socialize them.  Our Founding Fathers would be rolling in their graves if they were to see what is going on in the USA in 2009.  I’ve been depressed the past few months over the direction this country is going in and up until today I didn’t think  my voice mattered or could make a difference.  Today’s rally in my little coastal town and in towns and cities across this great nation changed my heart and gave me renewed hope. I now have faith that we the PEOPLE of this great nation can make a difference. I am damn proud of this country, I’m proud to be an American and a veteran of the greatest armed forces this world has ever known.   Here are some photos I took this afternoon at the rally. God Bless America! God Bless the people who are rising up and making their voices heard above the din of political correctness and constant liberal propaganda spewed by the mainstream media who are basically nothing more than Obama’s lackey’s and cheerleaders.

Don’t be afraid! The American People still have a voice and can still make a difference.

I welcome your comments! Thanks God we still have FREE SPEECH in this country. Be careful though…it can be taken from us in a blink of an eye just like they want to take away our second amendment rights to bear arms and tax us into submission and subservience to the federal governement. Is this the CHANGE we were hoping for????

  1. We, the people, need to stay united and take our country back. We should not be the servants of our elected officials, we elect them to serve us, our views, and our best interest. Honorable and qualified men and women that are willing to serve us and help take back our government need to be encouraged and financially supported to run for office. We need to remain united and stand by these candidates at the polls regardless of our political party. We must mature enough to recognize quality and platforms and then vote for the candidates that share our values and views.

  2. What our politicians and many of our citizens do not understand is the Constitution does not give us rights. Our Creator does–see the Declaration of Independence. The Constitution does not limit those rights. It limits the power of the government to infringe on our rights. The current administration is fast taking us into socialism, spending us into bankruptcy and weakening our national defense. When the Silent Majority is no longer silent, things will change. Until we speak out nothing will change.

  3. It seems that even when we elect “so called” conservative candidates that say they stand for limited government and tell us they’ll be fiscally responsible, ONCE they get to Washington something happens to them – I believe its called POWER and they transform “morph” into big government, power hunger beaurocrats who essentially buy into the Democratic “liberal” agenda. Maybe not to the extent as the dems, but I don’t see their outrage. I don’t see them standing up to them. I don’t see them standing up for the people who elected them. I don’t see any guts, passion and courage out of the current crop of Republicans and what used to be the Blue Dog Democrats. It looks like it is up to the people to make so much noise and demand we get some common sense and fiscal responsibility back in Washington. Where is Ronald Reagan when we need him most. We need another Reagan who is not afraid to FIGHT liberalism and socialism at every turn.

  4. I attended the rally and have not felt as great a sense of country as I did that day. I did not bring my daughter but should have. She would have witnessed the beginning of a real movement to rein in our run away government. The outpouring of concern over the direction of our country was nothing less than moving. April 15th was just the beginning – now the work begins. On to Washington for the national rally.

  9. Yes, the people ARE coming. Excellent commentary and observations about where we are, and describing the next fork in the road we face as a country. Let’s hope and pray we get it right as we approach 2010.
