Pray for an Epiphany in the American People

President Obama – AHHHHHHH!!!!

Tomorrow is election day and I for one am going to be extremely glad when the damn drama and endless onslaught of political e-mails, commercials and campaigning is over. It seems like this thing has been going on forever and now election day is just about upon us. I know in my heart that God is truly in control, but it’s still very difficult not to be filled with anxiety over the direction this great nation of ours is going. To think that a first term RADICAL LIBERAL Senator with no real experience in running anything could be our next President is absolutely frightening to me. A man who wants to redistribute the wealth in this country is mind boggling to say the least – How can a politician who literally says he wants to take money away from the people earning it and give it to those not working be winning this Presidential race? WAKE UP AMERICA!!! It’s totally SURREAL to me – a man who approves (and voted for) partial birth abortion and procedures that literally kill babies that survive abortions UNBELIEVABLE and still people are going to vote for this guy in mass. A guy who wants to shut down the coal industry, put regulations in place that make energy prices sky rocket and will not explore drilling for oil on American soil so we can break our dependence on foreign oil is NUTS, yet people are going to vote for this inexperienced radical socialist. This is a man who has serious ties to terrorists like Bill Ayers and Marilyn Katz who is actually fundraising for him. Obama has no clue or experience (in my opinion) to be our Commander and Chief.

That alone should scare the crap out of you in these dangerous times with threats and outbreaks of terrorism around the world and here at home. If Obama gets elected I will lose my faith in the American people. This is NOT the America I know and love. Sure…there are millions of people in this country who believe like I do – unfortunately the traditional media has been Obama’s #1 supporter and cheerleader since he won the Democratic primary and even before. The media is an absolute joke and should be ashamed of itself. The traditional media are suppose to be the watchdogs and expose the inconsistencies, lies and flaws in the candidates, BUT with Obama they’ve been hiding them, lying for him, covering up for him and rooting for him while they do everything in there power to crucify McCain, even though he used to be their golden boy because he has reached out to democrats and liberals in the past.

Yet I sit here and still have HOPE. There is something inside me that says the American people are going to have an epiphany at the eleventh hour and reject this man and see him for what he is. This is my hope and what I will pray for tonight. This election is monumentally important as far as the direction this country will be taking in the next 8 years. Will we travel down the dead end road to socialism and the redistribution of wealth? – Lets face it…Socialism has been tried in the past and has failed miserably every time OR will be regroup and fire up our great capitalistic and enterpenurial spirits and continue to be the greatest FREE nation on earth. Time will tell! God Bless America!

Pray people PRAY for that Epiphany!

“Lets face it…Socialism has been tried in the past and has failed miserably every time OR will be regroup and fire up our great capitalistic and enterpenurial spirits and continue to be the greatest FREE nation on earth.”

What about subsidies for farmers? Wall street bailouts? Import duties on softwood lumber?

These are socialist measures under way in America and supported by Republicans.

Or would you prefer all farmers to go under? Or wall street to collapse the entire economy into the next great depression?

Sorry if the questions hurt your head.

They don’t hurt my head – I don’t want farmers to go under I just don’t see how redistributing the wealth in this nation solves our problems – If you think the great prophet Obama is going to solve these difficult issues – I hate to break this to you, BUT you are in for a very rude awakening – if he wins there will be a great deal of buyers remorse (and wailing in the streets) within a year of his swearing in. God bless you and I wish you well.

Thank you for your kind and well spoken words and providing this avenue to express my opinion.

I was merely trying to point out that Socialism in it’s purest form will never come to surface in America and we already have socialist policies in place to protect those that need it, when they need it.

As far as your prophecies of the future: I don’t know how you can know that barring making nothing more than assumptions that cannot be quantified or … having some special metaphysical talent to see what lies ahead.

They are both strong men and and good leaders will do their best to fix the problems of this nation while we pay off an astronomical national debt incurred by 8 years of W for generations to come.

    All the best to you.

I truly wish I could believe Obama was a strong man and good leader, but I must respectfully disagree with you. Based on all he has done and said and the people (terrorists for example) he has chosen to associate himself with I truly believe he does NOT have the best interests of this country in mind – I see him as an opportunist, smooth talker and elitist who thinks you and I need him to solve our problems. I look to myself, my family and God to help me work through my personal issues NOT the government. Best to you as well friend. Pray before you vote for wisdom and clarity.

I understand and would add that every single politician -by nature and virtue of their profession – have to exhibit the traits you mention to survive and thrive.

Would you please share with me your views on this chart of US national debt since the mid 1970s?

To me, it clearly illustrates that Republicans are fiscally incompetent.

What is your view on this data?

Forgive me, I forgot to address your other point:

The Obama terrorist link is weak spin at best.

I might also point out Republicans were doing arms deals with Sadam decades ago. They took Iraq off the terrorist list, did billions in business in WMD and conventional weapons. And this isn’t some loose theory, it’s well documented history I might add.

Here’s mainstream video of a young Rumsfeld in action if you haven’t seen it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NDABe8AOuCQ

And a simple overview of US / Iraq relations over the years:

    Thank you for your thoughts.

Well Patrick, thank you for deleting my last comment.

While you are at it, go ahead and delete ALL my comments. Obviously you only interested in free speech when it’s convenient … and not if that free speech is used to humbly express views that may differ from your own.

Don’t look now but by that single act you just performed an act of spin and censorship. And as you know, censorship is a trait rampant amongst “terrorist regimes”. Seems like you guys have something in common after all.

Thanks for your time and have a great life my fair and balanced brother.

See you on the other side.

    Peace.

I went to bed after my previous post and didn’t delete any comments – I would NOT do that. I don’t know what you are talking about. I see a comment you made about the national debt and agree Republicans did NOT do what we originally sent them to Washington to do and that is to cut government spending and wasteful spending, however if you think for one minute Obama is going to do a better job think again. He is going to implement more entitlement programs and we will see the era of the New New Deal. Peace back at you!

As you can see I didn’t delete your post. It was caught in my spam blocker after I shut the computer off and went to bed. You and I can go back and forth on these various issues until the cows come home and I do see your points, however my main point in my original post is my sincere and personal belief that Obama is bad for this country and McCain is a better alternative. The traditional media has trashed him and Palin since the beginning because they are essentially an arm of the democratic party now and don’t seem to be ashamed of it. We will find out tonight what the result will be and I agree with Jenny that whoever wins is in for a mess – Southwestern Ireland is looking better and better for me when I retire.

    November 4, 2008

I also agree with Jenny, I’m sooo ready for it to be over. Someone has to win and they have a lot of work to do. But I can also say that no one is perfect and each one of us including the candidates have our certain issues that make us tick. Our country is in need of some kind of change and we are about to get one. I’m not into politics because I hate all of the drama but people are going to disagree that is what makes us human. We need to learn to take care of each other and let God do the rest…. And not let it all stress us out so much.. 🙂

Great to hear from an old High School buddy! I hope all is well with you Harry! Its been a very long time since we rode our motorcycles cross country – seems like an eternity ago. Keep the faith and lets pray for that miracle.

Let’s hope that America sobers up before they pull the lever today. But no matter what happens, remember – God is in control.

Let me share this with ya’ll…back in 1996 I was furious with the US Congress for letting BJ Clinton off the hook. However, looking back, had congress convicted him of high crimes and misdemeanors as I had hoped it is very likely that Algore would have beaten GWB in 2000.

The point is this, God’s ways are not our ways. Nevertheless, pray and trust in God. dk

I just arrived home, it took me just two hours to place my vote!!!
It seems as if the LIBERAL DEMOCRATS want us to believe that it’s a done deal. Well, I’ve got news for them, Everyone I talked with on that line this morning said their voting for MCCAIN!!!!!!! I believe the LIBERAL
MEDIA wants us all to THINK that its OBAMA. The AMERICAN PEOPLE
are not going to let our country go to hell in a hand basket, which will be exactly what will happen. God will be the defining dicision maker in all of this!!! GOOD LUCK & GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  16. keoughp
    November 4, 2008

I love your optimism Mary and YES Dino…God’s ways and plans are NOT ours – thanks for reminding me. The American people will decide today – this election will tell us a lot about our country, its direction and its people.

I can’t let Spazpublican get away with some of his misguided comments.

First of all… When we were doing arms deals with Saddam he was fighting the Ayatollah in Iran. (Saddam was on our side. We have not been officially doing business with Saddam since the late 80’s.) It is the Russians and the ChiComs who have been selling arms to Saddam. Proof??? our guys are bbeing shot at with AK-47s and manufactured by the ChiComs – – not M-16s.

Secondly, the budget…Congress controls the budget not the president. Do you even know that? Got a problem with the budget, vote that rats outa’ Congress. The Prez is fighting a war and needs $$ to do it.

    Hey Buddy,

You got it right. I voted this morning, however, my vote in NY will probably not count. Imagine if it did. That would mean God heard all our prayers. God Bless America!

“I know in my heart that God is truly in control…”

If that’s the case, looks like God endorsed Obama.

    Accept His will.

We have survived the election. All I can say is that God works in mysterious ways. You have a big heart and you know that things will work out. So don’t worry about it, take it in and move on. Big adventures are waiting for you, smile and know that there are people that care about you and are here for you always.. 🙂

good morning to all of you..a new kind of day>>for sure!i woke up,with a very sad feeling:then i realized, there is not a thing,we can do to change the results of whom the american people want.(the majority).lets compare it to,being totally “in love”..BLINDED BY THIS LOVE..when we are that much,in love we could never or wont ever,SEE the truth.
well, its like they say,the liberals have a disease..some sort of retarded gene..they cant possibly see any truth.they see what they like….to be able to do anything they want and get away with it!just like,a child.
i must accept this “HAPPENEING”,as we all have to.
i refuse to let it get the better of me .God is my leader..i have no other.all my trust,is in him.he has his reasons for allowing things to happen and we do not dare, question him…ever.
so,sit back and stand strong in your faith…do not become too discouraged..there has always been good and bad,in the world.we have our protection, from above.
God bless all of you.we ,as christians, can get thru the toughest times..this is just another tribulation.it will be much tougher than it is now,so,keep strong…we cant run and hide..there is no place to go to that is better..like i said, good and bad are everywhere..just

I feel good this morning! Its a good thing to see history being made–hope triumphing over the politics of fear. Being in Carteret County it might be a bit difficult to to bask in the national consciousness, but not impossible.
    Good Morning America!

    November 5, 2008

ok this is for obama>>mama always said”judge a person by the company he/she keeps”.
for those who do not know the truth of why the economy collapsed here it goes…..
way back when…jimmy carter (and then fast forward to clinton),pressured banks to give loans,to low income people, threatening legal action,if they didnt!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
now people have defaulted, over these loans, which were actually bonded with other loans(selling them as pkgs.,so “the bad apples spoiled the whole barrel).these, sold pkgs.,collapsed…all this, done by democrats.
republicans and Bush tried .they asked for oversight to look into these things but were told by democrats(schumer, barney franks) that it wasnt needed and that fannie mae and freddie mac were ok.
THEY>>LIED.this was going on for years.as usual democrats are to blame..BUT the republicans GET the blame.
what people dont understand is that the president cant change something by himself!congress and the senate have the big say and most of them are democrats..now,theres no $ left.who knows where they will get it all to pay for all the people who are sitting around waiting for others to pay for them…oh yeah….all of US WILL BE PAYING FOR THEM FOR THEIR HOUSES,THEIR CLOTHES,THEIR CARS ETC….THOSE GOOD OL”DEMOCRATS.

Mary Faye and everyone else – there is no point in addressing this stuff anymore whether it be fact or fiction. The media does not care about facts – they care about their agenda. They got what they want and now we all have to “get on with it” and get over it. Sure…I’m numb this morning. We have a choice to be depressed and angry or just believe this election is all part of a bigger plan. Let’s all take a deep breath – say a quite prayer and get on with our lives as best we can. The slow crawl towards socialism in America will continue – and with Obama elected I am sure that crawl will become a jog in the coming years. If this is what America voted for than that is what they will get. We all have to do our best to live our lives, care for our families and not let it eat us all alive. There really isn’t any point in being depressed or sad – there is nothing we can do about it. God bless you all and that includes the Dems and Liberals who think I am some “right wing” mouthpiece. It’s ok to be a left wing mouthpiece just not a conservative one.

  27. MARY FAYE
    November 5, 2008

there is no right or left wingpiece..just freedom of speech.thanks for letting u voice our opinions, thoughts.i would never let this “eat me alive”.this is ,as you said”part of a bigger plan”.thats all.leave it at that..and be the best we can toward each other..and try to do what is right.have a happy week everyone!fortunately,i myself,am not a depressed person,so it could be a plus,in this situation.stay well!

To say the very least, it’s been a rough day for me. I’m disheartened by my fellow American’s dicision to elect a man to the highest office of our country, who has the least experience of them all. Understandably, people are mesmerized by this eloquent and articulate speaker, he is charming, handsome and extremely brilliant. however, this is by know means the criteria for Presidency. I urge everyone who has courage to find time to read OBAMA NATION by Jerome R. Corsi, PH.D!! The author of this book
researched Obama’s life and affiliations with radical liberal extremists, You will be amazed as to what this author has found out about the background
of the man who is now our COMMANDER AND CHIEF!!!! iT’S FRIGHTENING.
The Liberal Media however, never brought this information to the masses,
and the American people seem to be blinded by the light.
My only wish would be that the American Citizens would have done their
homework. What do we really know about Obama? Read and you will sadly
find out that the man you elected is a VERY DANGEROUS INDIVIDUAL!!!
