Thoughts on Life, Art, Photography, Technology, Teaching and Travel…..
Andei and I jumped in the Honda Element this past Friday and headed west to see Uncle Dennis (my brother) who lives in Sylva, NC. Sylva is an hour past Ashville and an 8 hour drive.
First stop was the new NC Museum of Art. Andei absolutely loved it!
From there we visited Adam’s Mom Robin and husband Willie fed us well and let us stay for the night. We had a great time sipping wine on their back porch after a great cookout. We got up early and drove 5 more hours and made it to Sylva to find my brother living in a little log cabin on top of a desolate mountain in the middle of no where USA. Turned out my sister Mary Ann and her husband Kenny and daughter Mary Kate were visiting Dennis as well so we have had a wonderful little family reunion. One of the highlights was getting to shoot some really cool handguns behind my bothers mountain compound. Here are some photos from our trip so far. Andei is still asleep. We have an 8 hour drive ahead of us. We are staying at a great hotel on a river in the middle of the mountains of NC. Last night they had an amazing Fireworks display over the mountain range. So far its been a great trip. Well worth the long drive. I better go wake up Andei and start getting ready to get on the road.
