Teaching Photography Online (Introduction) VASA Workshop

meonlineWell my six month sabbatical is over and I am back to teaching a variety of art and photography related courses for 5 different North Carolina Community Colleges all in the online environment. I totally enjoyed my travels through Eastern Europe and Central America this past 6 months, but now it’s time to regroup and get back to work – there are bills to pay and money to be saved for my next adventure.

I’ll bust it hard this semester and then start planning another photographic excursion for the summer. That is the beauty of retirement and being an online educator. I find teaching online very gratifying, however it is a real challenge for educators because the goal is always to replicate the traditional classroom experience in the online environment.

My workshop linked below addresses both the technical issues and methodology for teaching photography and art using a variety of course management systems and communication tools like Google + Hangouts, Skype, Moodle, Audacity, Blackboard and podcasting.

If you are an art and/or photo educator you may want to consider taking this workshop.

I am also offering 2 workshops through VASA Project on Teaching Photography and Art Online.
